The official poem of the Red Hat Society.
Warning by Jenny Joseph When I am an old woman I shall wear purple With a red hat which doesn’t go, and doesn’t suit me. And I shall spend my pension on brandy and summer gloves And satin sandals, and say we’ve no money for butter. I shall sit down on the pavement when I’m tired And gobble up samples in shops and press alarm bells And run my stick along the public railings...

Naomi of Rockstar Diaries
The wonderful outfits of Noami from Rockstar Diaries. She dresses in such fun bright colors. It makes her seem like such a fun person. I feel the first impression on Tough Love would be she looks great. But perhaps she is more girl pretty than guy pretty and a guy might think she looks like a mormon, which she is. After reading her blog archives, i love this blogger and this blog.  ...

4 Media Experiences
I saw 3 movies. 1. Fantastic Mr. Fox. This is a great movie. Wes Anderson is a real artiste, and he has a great sense of humor. 2. An Education. The plot was cliche and boring. Peter Saarsgard’s acting was unrealistic and unbelievable. I was bored and uncomfortable. 3. New Moon. An accurate portrayal of a breakup. I could feel a tremor go through the room of young girls when Jacob was on...

Translations
Liisu turns four today. The darkness does not bother her. Her sister S turns nine day after tomorrow. Lots of partying here. I started knitting black-grey mittens for myself. It´s so dark i cannot see the loops, too hard to knit. Husband rejoices this southwest finnish darkness by lighting christmaslights. Early i think, just in time he thinks. Just in time. Yes. We tented the inside plants and...

photo exclusive!
Have you ever seen anything cooler? These pictures are created with look alikes. These are done by an artist named Alison Jackson. The following is taken from here where you can go to see all her images: Her photos demonstrate that while seeing is believing, the truth is another story entirely. In her work, Jackson says, “Likeness becomes real and fantasy touches on the believable. The viewer is...

Responding to Criticism
From Perez Hilton, look how well Rachel Ray responds to criticism from Martha: Meow! Martha Stewart did NOT bite her tongue in an upcoming interview withNightline when asked about TV competitor Rachael Ray: “Well, to me, she professed that she could — cannot bake. She — just did a new cookbook which is just a re-edit of a lot of her old recipes. She — and that’s not good enough for...

Kenneth Rexroth
I read a book in Book People in Austin the other day: Songs of Love, Moon & Wind: Poems from the Chinese translated by Kenneth Rexroth.  After reading the book, you come away with many beautiful images and a sense of ancient Chinese life. Moonlight, wooden floors, mirrors, long black hair, lonely journeys, lone travelers in a bar, lakes, reeds, dirt paths, lovers in beds, wine, hopelesness,...

A Swedish Blogger
I found a new Swedish blog that is kind of like the Finnish blogs I like. That’s where these pics come from. This is the blogger. As i have said before, google translator makes all foreign blogs sounds like a poem. I really like her red striped shirt and red skirt outfit. I think I will try to replicate.

Summer night in the house.
A summer night. Fling open all the windows and doors. A summer storm. Power is out. Light the house with lanterns. The baby is sleeping. The dog is sleeping. Pour the wine. Tiptoe into bed. Listen to the crickets and soft snoring noises.

My thoughts on moving on
Isn’t it interesting how in life you have to be constantly dealing with this: dragging what you love to the altar and sacrificing it. Like killing the sacrificial bull. It is kind of a bitter thing I would imagine, but you have to do it. In the olden days, they had to kill the pig or the cow to eat. Every year they would raise it up, feed it and care for it and love it, and then butcher it....
