Tor, What a bore She does have muscles like Thor but those didnt help her when she tore a ligament whilst in karate, dealing a blow but somehow forgot to loosen up down below whence the chains of fibers flow.  she must have been in some hypnotic state  where she was nothing but a heap of sedate and henri had to wait and wait until for their date, it was much too late. but thats the story of her...

This is a great talk about how Eve Ensler eventually became happy in her life, while doing amazing things in the world. I though the Vagina Monologues was an amazing play. One of the most inspiring things she said was: “When we give in the world what we want the most, we heal the broken part inside each of us.” Eve Ensler was molested by her alcoholic father and had a horrible...

Fox on Wheels
I saw a great post on ye olde Soap Box Derby on this blog today. It reminds me of one of my favorite childhood books—Fox Outfoxed. I always wondered what a soap box derby was. In this race, the winner received a KISS from a former Lufthansa stewardess. This pic is too gross and funny!

Two twin girls Kara and Sara brown who work as consultants for Ralph Lauren home. I love their style. They like very old clothes—clothes that are literally antiques. It must be cool to be a twin. They have a blog too, where they put all their inspiration, called identicaleye .

Orange Candles
Today I bought orange tapers at Bed/bath/beyond. And candle sticks. I was so excited about it. I had a vision of them dripping a ton, like in Interview with the Vampire, but that didn’t happen lol.

Martha Throws A Party
The only thing missing in the whole Martha Stewart Living empire is a sense that Martha is having fun while decorating, living in her houses, cooking, baking, animal keeping, gardening, crafting, and entertaining. She undertakes everything with such seriousness and thoroughness that you have to wonder how much of her life is work and how much brings her happiness and joy. I always had the...

The house from the movie Practical Magic, a fun movie and a terrible book, in my opinion. The movie is good but kind of silly. The best part about it is the Auntie’s house.

Saw A Lamb Being Born
Lamb by Michael Dennis Browne Saw a lamb being born Saw the shepherd chase and grab a big ewe and dump her on her side. Saw him rub some stuff from a bottle on his hands.  Saw him bend and reach in.  Heard two cries from the ewe. Two sharp quick cries. Like high grunts. Saw him pull out a slack white package. Saw him lay it out on the ground. Saw him kneel and take his teeth to the cord.  Saw...

Vanessa: The Sea Witch
“Ariel” on her balcony watches “Vanessa: the Sea Witch” rise out of the sea, and suddenly knows her good luck is coming to an end. The god abandons Antony When suddenly, at midnight, you hear an invisible procession going by with exquisite music, voices, don’t mourn your luck that’s failing now, work gone wrong, your plans all proving deceptive—don’t mourn them...

A Dinner Date at Per Se
My dad took me on a special dinner date tonight. We went to Per Se, and had the vegetarian tasting menu. I had never had a tasting menu and at most fancy restaurants there is usually only one vegetarian option which I have no choice but to order. So tonight I got a real gourmet experience.  It was really a fantastic eating experience. In certain dishes, I felt I truly understood for the first...

The Pioneer Woman's Blog
I just got done browsing the blog of The Pioneer Woman, Ree Drummond. I read her incredibly long autobiographical “about me” section entitled Black Heels to Tractor Wheels chronicling her account of how she used to be a very uppity boy crazy city girl from L.A who wore black stilletto boots, did her hair, got manicures etc, but who moved back home to the Midwest at 25 after breaking up...

The Tempest by Victoria N---------
Prospero: Our revels now are ended. These our actors, As I foretold you, were all spirits, and Are melted into air, into thin air: And like the baseless fabric of this vision, The cloud-capp’d tow’rs, the gorgeous palaces, The solemn temples, the great globe itself, Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve, And, like this insubstantial pageant faded, Leave not a...

The Nursery that Inspired Peter Pan
that the revered architect Sir Edwin Lutyens & the Never Land Peter Pan would ever cross paths seems unlikely-but there is more than just a passing connection. Lutyens and J.M.Barrie-creator of Peter, the lost boys and the Darling children- were friends. The original sets for the Barrie play were designed by Lutyens.  The nursery was a big square room, with a gay frieze round the walls of...

Rhiannon of Liebemarlene vintage
Rhiannon of Liebemarlene vintage is so inspiring to me. She makes a living as a fashion blogger and selling her vintage finds in her etsy store so she is free to live her life doing what she loves. She finds almost all her clothes in vintage stores, and is one of those model-esque people who can make anything look good. She moved to Atlanta with her B/f Drew and they go out together to take...

This used to be one of my favorite activities—decorating cookies. These pics are from martha’s blog post about an event called Milk & Cookies Party she hosted for the Wine & Food festival. Success Story
We started a business selling t-shirts with funny sayings on them, and we sold it when we were 26. With some of the money we bought this house together and 1000 acres of land. Our dogs love it here. They can roam free. We are planning our second business here. The peace and quiet helps us to think. The air smells really good here. We really don’t miss New York.
